We are looking for an experienced Transportation Logistics Planner to join our client’s team in Markham, ON, responsible for truck planning and space optimization activities.
This is a hybrid role – you will work out of the Markham office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and work from home the other 3 days per week.
This is a direct hire position – you will be hired on directly by our client.
Salary: $49,000-55,000/year
Responsibilities:
– Load optimization: Utilizing CubeIQ to maximize truck configurations, validate equipment types, audit load plans
– Transportation Planning: Using TMS to validate carrier and tariff selection process, ensure carrier tenders are EDI transmitted and accepted to meet customer requested arrival dates, confirm location pings are present for accurate shipment statuses
– Reporting and Documentation: Maintain records related to load planning, optimization activities, SOPs, carrier/service level scorecards, load efficiency, costs
– Identify and resolve challenges within the scope of TMS systems
– Provide guidance and consultation for load simulations and ‘fit’ data for customer PO communication
– Other duties as required
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or equivalent relevant work experience
– Experience working with freight transportation statistics
– Excellent technical skills (Excel, Reporting, EDI)
– Experience in Supply Chain/Logistics/Transportation is a strong asset
– Experience with TMS/Truck Load planning knowledge is a strong asset
– Previous CPG experience with major grocery retailer knowledge is a strong asset
– Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
– Strong analytical mindset
