We are seeking a City Planner/Operations Specialist to join our client’s team in Mississauga, ON.
The ideal candidate for this position is a dedicated individual with proven experience in Logistics Dispatching/Routing/Planning, strong administrative skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Shift: 2:00am-10:30am Monday-Friday
Pay: $28.00-29.00/hour based on experience
Responsibilities:
– Planning and assigning 55+ driver routes
– Adjusting/reassigning plans as needed to accommodate late freight, issues, updates
– Loading trips into TMS system
– Utilizing TruckMate software to build and manage trip plans
– Prioritizing inbound freight volumes for next day delivery
– Performing driver check in/out procedures
– Maintaining accurate route manifests, trip records, dock paperwork, and performance data
– Preparing dispatch documentation/trip manifests/routing instructions
– Working with other teams to coordinate workflow, ensure freight is staged correctly, validate freight availability, and resolve issues
– Other duties as required
Qualifications:
– Previous work experience in LTL Dispatch, Routing, or Transportation Planning within the Logistics industry (minimum 2 years)
– Knowledge of the GTA/Southern Ontario delivery network and traffic patterns
– Strong knowledge of LTL operations, trip planning, and city routing practices
– Dispatch/TMS systems experience (I.e. TruckMate)
– Proficient in Microsoft Office
– Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
– Strong problem-solving skills
– Strong organizational skills
– Able to work independently
– Able to work in a fast-paced environment
– Able to work on the 2:00AM shift
