We are seeking an afternoon City Dispatcher for a large Transportation company located in the Brampton area.
Salary: $50,000-55,000/year based on experience
Schedule: Afternoon shift Monday-Friday
Responsibilities:
– Coordinating/scheduling/dispatching city drivers according to customer requirements (trucks, straight trucks, and owner operators)
– Monitoring driver routes to ensure timely delivery of freight
– Determining routing problems and resolving issues ASAP
– Recording mileage, fuel use and repairs
– Acting as the liaison between company drivers and customers
– Communicating with drivers during trips to ensure smooth delivery of freight
– Ensuring drivers have all necessary paperwork before dispatching to client sites, including alternate routes or special instructions for delivery
– Other duties as required
Qualifications:
– Previous experience in a Dispatching role within the Transportation/Logistics industry
– Strong knowledge of the GTA
– Able to work independently
– Strong customer service skills
– Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
– Comfortable with drivers/driver paperwork
– Able to work on the afternoon shift
